Summer Orienteering Challenge!

Despite lockdown, we’ve kept on Scouting using Zoom meetings, which is amazing (that’s the 21st Century for you!). Now that we’ve stopped for the summer holidays we want to set you a challenge to get out and about in August!

Can you help by volunteering for roles within our Group?

Scouting worldwide continues to be as popular as ever. We are experiencing this trend here at 1st North Leigh Scout Group and we need more volunteers in all types of roles within our Group. Adult and Young Leader Volunteers are essential to the continuing success and day to day running of the Group.

1st North Leigh Centenary Camp

If you hadn’t realised, 1st North Leigh Scout Group is 100 years old this year! (Only a few leaders have been around since then, I’ll leave it to you to guess which ones!) To celebrate, we took the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers to Brownsea Island, where the very first experimental Scout camp was held in 1907 by Lord Baden Powell himself!

North Leigh 18 Mile Hike back for 2020!

 2020 Event Sponsors Are you ready?  Registration opening for 1st January 2020! We are back for 2020 and we are going to be bigger and better! Having moved our date for next years event to the 28th March 2020, we are hoping for better weather and to offer more places to Scout Groups and families that weren’t so lucky in getting into the very popular and fantastic ‘Winter Challenge Hike’ on the Ridgeway. We can offer the same distances, we have specific routes for beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Network. Remembrance day 2016

1st North Leigh Scout Group attended the remembrance Day Service this year at St.Mary Church in North Leigh by firstly Parading at Cuckamus Green in the village along with the guides and Brownies before marching through the village to the church. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Guides and Brownies all attended along with family and friends to remember those who had fought for us in the First and Second World Wars and all subsequent Wars since.

Group Day

On Group day North Leigh Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and the Leaders all join up for a day of fun and adventure at Youlbury.
